APPLICATIONS AND IMPLICATIONS

The activity of this week is to plan and document the final project and the range of covered units:

WHAT WILL IT DO?

My final project is to design and build a table reactive to step out of hand , ie when anyone run your hand across the table , it begins to glow . In addition, you 'll add other features such as:

• Must have the ability to change operating mode. In a first mode behave as a reactive table, and in the second mode, the table stop being reactive and will become a chess table where we can play. • Moreover the table must have a port for charging cell phone batteries, this is necessary because at present is always required.

WHO'S DONE WHAT BEFOREHAND?

On the web there are several videos of examples of reactive tables, but I found one that gives an explanation and gives some scope of how to do this is at the following web link:

http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-build-a-Daft-Punk-Table-Replica/

It can be seen that have done something similar to the project intend to develop. The difference between my project is to give more functionality. I also found videos on youtube of tables has built. One of them is:

WHAT MATERIALS AND COMPONENTS WILL BE REQUIRED?

The materials will be used mainly are:
For the mechanical part it is needed:
• Tripley phenolic to the structure of the table.
• Acrylic
• ABS material printing of chess pieces.
For the electronics you need:
• Microcontroller Atmega 328
• Resistors
• Registers
• ultra-bright LEDs
• Connectors

WHERE WILL THEY COME FROM?

Of the above materials, some are in the local market such as wood and acrylic tripley. In the case of electronic components, some of them have in the lab mad FAB LAB, other electronic materials dl local market is obtained. If necessary materials were imported.

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?

Mechanical part: 50 dollars Electronic part: 100 dollars

These prices are a proxy for the first prototype. Once perfected these costs are significantly reduced.

WHAT PARTS AND SYSTEMS WILL BE MADE?

Parts and systems to be undertaken involve the following:

Mechanical part:

- Structure of the table.
- Cover with transparent acrylic.

Electronic part:

- Design and manufacture of electronic circuits.

WHAT PROCESSES WILL BE USED?

- Cutting controlled by computer (SHOPBOT)
- Cutting Laser in EPILOG
- 3D printing REPLICATOR 2X
- Manufacture of electronic cards in MODELA.
- Welding of electronic components

WHAT TASKS NEED TO BE COMPLETED?

- Finish the electronic design
- Test the electronic system
- Design of the metal frame

WHAT QUESTIONS NEED TO BE ANSWERED?

- What if I can not find my project surface components in the local market?
- Could you use some components on the circuit board insertion?
- What if I do not finish my project on time?

WHAT IS THE SCHEDULE?

HOW WILL IT BE EVALUATED?

The indicator for evaluation is that the table has the ability to:

- React to step out of hand by the active area, lighting LED lighting.
- Ability to upload at least two cell at the same time.
- Change mode of reactive table chess table.
