I am very happy to visit Fab Lab Kitakagaya in Osaka and Fab Lab Seoul during the break week.
Fab Lab Kitakagaya locates in the south of Osaka. While the location is close to the city crowd, it is surrounded by metal and wood factories, which making sourcing materials much easier ( and probably the rent much lower. ) The building of Fab Lab Kitakagaya was once also a factory ( and still in some sense ) and it has two floors and a few garages. You'll feel that you are ready to work on heavy stuffs once you entered here. Thanks Morimoto san for guiding me and my Japanese friend. (should have taken a picture of us.)
Fab Lab Seoul is an investment of Tide Institute and seems to be very rich, though Dong-Hyun told me that it's not easy to maintain it financially. I am impressed with the number of facilities they have. Guess how many 3D printers they have? 10! The main difference between here and other Labs is that Fab Lab Seoul is more like an educational institute than community. So don't go there on weekends - it's not open! Thank you Dong Hyun and Sung Eun for giving me a warm welcome.
