week 7.
This week's assignement was to...
Make
something big
For this assignment i chose to make a gift for my wife, whom has been a great sport in beeing a bit overloaded with our kids since i started Fabacademy.
As most women she's very fond of fashion and clothes, so she joined a friend with the same interests and they have a second-hand clothes business called 'Trading Code'. They usually sell on LxMarket, a arts&crafts market in Lisbon. They have some clothes trolleys that look fragile and trivial, and for long i wanted to build a proper all-terrain clothes trolley. So this assignmetn was perfect for such purpose.
For the first time since fabacademy started i couldn't document my assignement in time. Long machining times, some complex 3d modelling, and some mechanical components added up and this became a rather complex task.
Here leave a photo of the miniature-version of the trolley that i modelled in Rhino and cut in the laser for assembly. As soon as i have the Trolley ready, i will post the final result along with the documentation.
Work in Progress
Since last week i've been improving on my trolley, but it still needs work so i'm just updating some new photos of the process, sequencially correct but not very organized as to teach others the process, that i will do as soon i manage the time to do so.

With all settings fixed, our Ouplan started machining the plywood board.
Lesson to never ever forget - don't use cheap mills, they will turn against you and you'll have to sand your heart out!!!
Drive tests!
Almost done! (some improvements yet to be done....)
