This week we explore the FabLab inventory and manufacture the FAB ISP board for programming, and boy are the flush mount components small, most defiantly AT TINY!!!!
Onto the Modela engraver using Fab Modules to process and load the file to the machine
It takes a few attempts to get the syntax correct in the terminal commands, but success we are engraving at last!
My first attempt at soldering were amateur to say the least, I have some experience soldering, but the form factor of the flush mount components means you need to be very careful. Luckily Wendy is now a semi professional at soldering and she helped me to assemble on my first attempt.
A good tip is to be careful and make sure your 6 pin connector and USB connector are soldered really well! We had a lot of trouble with our ISP failing to work and after much trouble shooting it was discovered that due to all the movement those connectors are subject too they invariably failed at some point, due to weak soldering.
