PROJECT
MANAGEMENT
To document
my Works on Fab Academy 2013, I have decided to create this html site with KompoZer tool. I
have customized it on the way of my possibilities, but I hope to make more
changes along the weeks.
There is
one principal page in which I will publish a new post each time I add a new
content including a link.
Work space
section will content the documentation of new weekly works as single page each
work.
Finally
there is a brief About Me section.
FINAL
PROJECT
To my Fab
Academy 2013 final project, I’m thinking about to build a complete automate
slot race circuit to my garage.
I want to
mill at least two car tracks in a MDF table and power it with adhesive copper
stripes. The nice thing of to mill the tracks and not to use commercial turn
pieces (very poor variety, only 2 or 3 different sizes) it’s that you can make
the tracks as you want, all sizes of turns, non-parallel tracks, etc…
To automate
the circuit I have some ideas, as to create an electronic lap and lap time
counter with some photodiodes, a microcontroller and a little display to show
the data, and build a motorized system to pick up the circuit over the wall
when you are not racing, which is one of the principal problems of this kind of
toys, usually need a lot of space and you only play a few hours in a year. I’m
thinking on more features to add to the circuit.
By molding,
I want to create some fans, trees and animals to ambient the circuit with also
some laser-cutted signals and protection rails.
To finish,
could be nice to print a customized car cover, it isn’t? :-)
