APPLICATIONS AND IMPLICATIONS

     what will it do?

My idea is to build a complete slot race circuit. 

      who's done what beforehand?

I want to bulid the complet circuit, I have a lot of slot cars at home, and the control pads, the only thing I expect to buy it’s the power supply. 

      what materials and components will be required?

It will require a 2440x1220 MDF board, adhesive copper film, I will make a fabduino, and I also need a couple of photosensors and an arduino lcd module. Beside this, I will use different kinds of paint to make diferent road feeling as tarmac, asphalt or gravel. I also need a power supply to power the tracks and the cars.

      where will they come from?

MDF come from a local vendor that we have here really near to the Fab.

I buy the copper film on a national online shop, I need to take a look where it’s made and update it here.

      what parts and systems will be made?

I will made all the track and the lap & lap time counter system

 

      what processes will be used? 

MDF milling, pcb milling, soldering, programming.

 

      what tasks need to be completed?

The only task is completed, is the MDF board milling, I made it during the computer controlled machining week.

 

      what questions need to be answered? 

I have the necessary dimensions to mill the trakcs, I need to study about the necessary power supply

 

      what is the schedule?

-mill the mdf board    track

-put the copper film

-cover the copper film and paint the board

-program the fabduino and test photo sensors and lcd

-insert photo sensors on the board and test it again with the cars

-mount the power supply

-connections between copper films and power supply

      how will it be evaluated?

The best evaluation for the project will be to could make a real race in the made circuit. Let’s see ;-)
