Group Assignment In this assignment I have to: * Characterize lasercutter's focus, power, speed, rate, kerf, and joint clearance * Document the work.

Focus test: In this test, I have drew a four lines, each line represents the distance between laser cutter focusing len and the material.

After the test, I get:

I found that 1 mm is sharper one, so it is the best.

Cut test: To test the cut of the machine, I have drew a twenty circles, each circles has different power and speed.

I have a prooblem with the machine because one of its mirrors needs reblacement, so the circles did not cut. After Changing the mirror and the calibration of all mirrors I tested it again and the result was good.

Individual assignments In this assignment I have to: * Design, lasercut, and document a parametric press-fit construction kit, which can be assembled in multiple ways. Account for the lasercutter kerf. * cut something on the vinylcutter.

Construction kit: I used CorelDRAW software to design the construction kit as follow:

After saving the design as dxf file, I used laser cutter software that called "RDWorks" to configure the power and speed of the machine.

Finally I cut it and try to make an amazing object.

Vinyl Cutter: A vinyl cutter is an entry level machine for making signs. Computer designed vector files with patterns and letters are directly cut on the roll of vinyl which is mounted and fed into the vinyl cutter through USB or serial cable. Vinyl cutters are mainly used to make signs, banners and advertisements. Advertisements seen on automobiles and vans are often made with vinyl cut letters. While these machines were designed for cutting vinyl, they can also cut through computer and specialty papers, as well as thicker items like thin sheets of magnet. My final project designed for a kids, so I choose a super hero to stuck its logo on the frame. My hero is Batman, he is my favorite when I was a child. I downloaded Batman ogo from internet, then I used CorelDRAW to save is at PLT file (compatible with machine software).
