Turning to small scale machining to scale up fabrication of an idea.

After finalizing the idea I extracted .STL and since I’m targeting Roland SRM-20 for fabrication I developed strategies for cutting using MODELA Player 4 for developing the strategy and Virtual MODELA for visualization of them.

As an arbitrary decision from the set of available bits, I choose 1/8’ bit for roughing and 1/64’ bit for finishing. For finishing I choose to do both X and Y strategy since I wasn’t as limited on time doing it with a bit of a delay, since it also would give best surface with the fine bit.

Current Work Files:

• Rhino file with baked result (.3DM)
• Data files from generated individual piece for GH (.GHDATA)
• Parametric File to generate geometry for the casting (.GH)
• Exported simplified mesh to cut (.STL)
• Strategy file for Roughing (.PRN)
