What I'm thinking to do as a final project supports sustainable goals.
They are a collection of 17 global goals. The SDGs or Sustainable Development Goals developed by the UN in 2015 are the blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all by 2030. They address the global challenges we face. One of the summer program camps, in 2019, I came up with 6 ideas with age group between 10-11 years old boys and girls, we had a lot of ideas to help the world, one of the ideas I do the prototype for gaming kid chair it can help her/him to keep their body in a good posture and reduce the gaming time and help them to manage their time, also it can sense tilt and do alarm if he/she in the poor posture, now am thinking to do a portable device that can help the kids to keep them in good posture, while they studying virtual these days by using TV, laptop, tablets or even mobile phones, I saw many kids having different setting some of them studying in their room some of them in their parent's office and some in the dining room, it depends on where is the good internet connection and others reasons, but I saw something command between all of them when the teacher asks them to go for a break most of them setting keep playing or just wait the teacher to come back again, here I return back to think more how can I help the kid to keep the body in good health. Poor posture is the posture that results from certain muscles tightening up or shortening while others lengthen and become weak which often occurs as a result of one's daily activities. I am thinking of design a device affordable, portable, stackable; we can use it with many products.
When children develop a bad posture habit, the effects can be long-lasting. Back and neck pain is only one aspect of the problem. Poor posture can also cause the spinal cord to change shape, which can create chronic pain and affect balance. Poor posture also has an effect on the rest of the body.
The first prototype
I did the first prototype at Sipchem Tech Club it was a summer program with Bright up Team.
First prototypes by 10-11 kids at Sipchem tech club summer 2019
Design Thinking Methodology
There are many strategic techniques and methods to make a design, I look for the most useful methods and I came up with:
5W, Design Sprint, AIEOU, DMADV.
I choose the 5w and AIEOU as framework, based on design thinking methodology, Design thinking is a process for creative problem solving. Design thinking has a human-centered core. It encourages organizations to focus on the people they're creating for, which leads to better products, services, and internal processes.
The first thing is to identify the pain point of the customer. Put yourself in your customer shoes to identify all the problems and potential latent needs.
Next is to define the business problem. It is only after identifying customers needs will you be able to identify the business problem. This would set the course for the rest of the discussion.
Here comes the most important steps Ideate. Each one has to come up with multiple ideas to tackle the problem. The best thing would be to pen down even the craziest of suggestions. In such a meeting, there is nothing like a stupid idea. Everyone should have the freedom to express themselves freely and openly without any boundaries.
After having discussed through all ideas, the best one is chosen and is then taken forward to be implemented. But before that, it is important to develop wireframes/ prototypes for the idea. Lots of tools exist today to help develop these prototype. It typically is dependent upon the situation and the budget at hand that would decide the platform.
