Introduction

Water quality monitoring is pivotal for overcoming organic water pollution problem, as it allows authorities to evaluate and assess if a particular water body is experiencing organic pollution, and to what extent it is polluted. Remediation measures can then be designed and implemented to address the issue. Conventional water systems monitoring methods used are laboratory-based. Even though such methods display a high degree of accuracy, they are too resource-intensive, time-consuming and do not provide real-time data.


My project idea is to design a water quality monitoring device that can analyse and when necessary, send out an alert signal. It needs minimal human intervention. The monitoring device will have 4 main components:
