ABOUT DILIJAN FABLAB

Fab Lab, or digital fabrication laboratory, is a place to play, to create, to mentor and to invent: a place for learning and innovation. Fab Labs provide access to the environment, the skills, the materials and the advanced technology to allow anyone anywhere to make (almost) anything. 1750 Fab Labs are around the world. All Fab Labs share common tools and processes, the program is building a global network of distributed laboratories for research and invention.

VISION
DEVELOP DILIJAN INTO A MAKER CITY AND FOSTER MAKER MOVEMENT IN ARMENIA

Since 2019 Dilijan fab lab is an official Fab academy node and provide academy course in the region. The Fab Academy teaches principles and applications of digital fabrication. It was developed to teach hands-on skills in fab labs, which began as an outreach project from MIT’s Center for Bits and Atoms, and has grown into a global network of more than 500 labs. It offers a distributed rather than distance educational model, students learn in local work groups, with peers, mentors, and machines, which are then connected globally by content sharing and video for interactive classes.

Everyone have access to all educational projects of the lab, (university, school students and adults). During educational processes students making different projects like wireless charging table, solar tracker, talking map etc.

Fostering the interest in innovation and making, Fab Lab team organizes different trainings, workshops and events for people of the region. Each 3 months the team is organizing “Maker days” for everyone. All interested people come to fab lab make furniture, 3D scan and print different figures, developing electronic boards, operating machines, etc. Dilijan Fab Lab is place, where everyone can come and make everything!
