FabAcademy 2020
ASSIGNMENT
Introduction
The start of 3D printing dates back to 1976, when the inkjet printer was invented. In 1984, some adaptations and advances on the concept of inkjet transformed ink printing technology to printing with materials.
In summary, 3D printing, or additive manufacturing, is a group of manufacturing technologies that, starting from a digital model, allow you to automatically manipulate different materials and add them layer by layer very precisely to build an object in three dimensions. Over the last decades, there have been a wide variety of applications of 3D printing technology that have been developed through its application in various industries.
For many this technology will change the economic processes of manufacturing and distribution of products in the world, because in the future we will no longer have to import a particular product, we will simply buy a design and a digital file will be sent to us, which we will print locally. This also makes the impression sustainable and even economical.
Charles Hull, later, the co-founder of 3D Systems, invents stereolithography, a printing process that allows a 3D Object to be created from digital data. The technology is used to create a 3D model from an image and allows users to test a design before it invests in the manufacture of the final model
Group Assignment
Test the design rules for your 3D printer(s)

The group assignment consisted of doing various tests with the filament 3D printers available in the workshop. In my case, the SINDOH printer was the one that worked best and was easy to operate.
Individual Assignment
-Design and 3D print an object (small, few cm3, limited by printer time) that could not be made subtractively
- 3D scan an object (and optionally print it)
Print- This assignment consists of printing a model or design using a 3D printer. Today there are a lot of models in the market, and in our workshop we have some, so I will try to know them and use them to see their differences. In the same way I am fortunate to have a small 3D printer at home, which I will also use to make an impression.
Scanning - I don't have much experience using the scanner, so I have decided to use it to start my research work by scanning a backup, with the intention of starting to link my final project with this assignment. I will adapt this backup and it will be the element that prints in 3D
For this assignment I decided to print the object I decided to scan, in my case my project is to create a device for the correction of lumbar position in children, so I decided to scan a backup I found and see what happened when printing it on different printers.
First scan, I moved very fast, so I had to repeat it
Second chance, scan achieved
Preparing the image for printing
SINDOH
First I decided to use our SINDOH printer
M3D
For this test I was able to modify the backrest a little by performing perforations whit ThinkerCad
