Intro

I want to make a Smart Helmet.

What will it do?

Light up when it gets dark,
Light changes with speed,
Light stops changing and turns red when under certain speed and stop. (delay until interrupted)

Who's Done What beforehand?

This is a Light saber from 2016 that someone did using Accelerometer and neopixels

There are many bike helmets from the past using Accelerometer and neopixels/RGB LEDs

Xiaomi Smart helmet that turns on and flashes when it gets dark.

What will you Design?

Everything?

What materials and Components will be used?

Leather for the outer - bought from the market $15

Mesh Composite or carbon fiber composite for hard shell - online ~$20

Wax for Molding and Casting - leftover from prev project (New-$25)

Mold Max 10T - leftover from prev project

or Sorta Clear 12 - New $70

Neopixels for light - In lab ~$20 per meter

Accelerometer - available in lab - Might have to use a module

Photoresistor - available in lab

ATtiny85 or ATMega - depending on pin

What processes will be used?

Molding and Casting for spikes

3d print for Mold for Spike (slot for neopixels)

Composite for Hard shell

CNC modeling foam for composite mold

Leatherwork to cover and style

What questions should be answered?

How to connect Accelerometer and photoresistor and programming?

Powering the connections

Connection in the helmet

Connecting to Phone VIA bluetooth and programming?

How will it be evaluated?

I think with how far I have to go, I think my bar should be lowered to just using Accelerometer When I slow down to stop, the lights turn red and blinks, and when I come to a stop, it stays red until I start moving again.
