What tasks have been completed, and what tasks remain?
So far, I have completed the assembling of the housing of my final project (baby infant incubator). The design was made with the help of the soldwork 2018. Then I cutout all the parts using the CNC machine. PCB design, Soldering electronic system for controlling and monitoring the status of the incubator,presentation slide and video are also completed. The remaining part is the finishing, painting of the housing, Humidifier and bili light (light therapy tool to treat newborn jaundice) will be added later. Additionally, the IoT system for monitoring the status of incubator remotely is under development.
What has worked and what hasn't?
The completed parts are working properly.On the other hand, I am not yet getting the Oxygen sensor that will help me to control the oxygen inside the incubator and the light therapy tool to treat newborn jaundice.
What questions need to be resolved?
Will I finish this in time? is it affordable? is it going to work as the other existing NEONATAL INCUBATORS
What will happen when?
I will have to finish my project within this round, as I plan to make testing of the prototype soon after installing humidifier and thermal monitoring equipment, and I also would like to visit some healthcare centers for futher testing and collecting data that will help me to improve my prototype.
What have you learned?
I have learned basic skill to design electronics and make circuit board with soldering surface mount parts. I failed many times and have become no to so afraid making micro controller board. Through Group assignment experiment, I have Learned how to collaborate with others, especially machine design weeks were good opportunity. Not only 2D design, I have learned 3D design and computer controlled machining. When I create something, I have become to think of various ways. Not only learning production techniques, I learned attitudes and mindset from the academy, such as project management, documentation, dissemination and FAB world.
