for the group assignment we used a design form thingiverse and printed it to understand the different prenting parameters
it explains the deiffernt parameters of the 3d printer.
and its good to have it in the lab for new users and visitors.
we also tried to print this design to test the printers capabilites
then we made our own poster that explains most of the important features of the 3d printer slicer that can affect the speed, qualit and money.
3D Printing
For this assignment i thought of doing something similer to the chiken head mechanisim. when chickens body moves it keeps its head straight to maintain a static background.
i want to utalize this mechanisim to make somehting that can hold things and maintain the desired position. so i made a car hanging holder that uses the gravity to balance it self in one position.
intially the design was a bit different and i kept going back and forth changing and adding vew details. the idea is that i want to print all the part in go and they should be moving parts after ward.

i printed the part in ultimaker 3 extended using pla filament. i had to tweek the scale and the setting to reduce the timing. it took a totle of 3 hours to complete.
3D Scanning
inntially itried scanning multiple objects but the scanner wont detect them. they were small objects. one had shainny surface. with made me conclude that it doesnt work well with these conditions. finaly i found the perfect object, i decided to make my own tennis racket so i scanned and printed one.
i used sense 3d scanner. it is small compatible scanner. it projects IR on to the object and then read its refelction. it has another camera that cptures the image of the object.
so once i got the scanning done i saved an stl file and took it to cura. ihad to scale it down before sending to the printer.
