For this week i want to experiment with 3d printing on textile. which will make a flexiable texture. i thought it would be nice to make a dragon skin texture with this method.
i designed the part using solidworks. i used the sketch option and lofted boss. i sketched the first layer and then copyed it on a parall plane. then i moved it alittle and scaled it down. then irepeated this three more times. then i used the lofted boss option i got this.
then i exported the file as stl and imported it in Cura slicer. i used the same setup as normal printing and exported the gcode.
i tried to pring random part on a latex gloves i thought that with high tempreture it will be good to use it but the plastic was not sticking to it. i tried doing the same with normal fabric but again the part came out easily.
then i tried to print on the bed normally and then add the fabric layer. this way the plastic and fabric will be infused better into each other and hopefully make for a good adhesion. but the result were the same the parts seperated quickly.
i then used a netted fabric this one by fab give the best results. the print was sucessful so i made a pattern and printed it again.
