Application and implications

Final project

TrackWalk

Is a device that can be attached to shoes or footwear to keep track of your daily steps count without being very obvious.although there are multiple options available but non of them is not eye catchy or eaily accessible. that is why TrackWalk is good for people who dont like to wear watches or forget to use thier phones or just dont like to be countinously asked about thier progress.

this is a simple sketch of the idea. the device is small and can be attached to easily. the led ligts will indicate the percentage of the goal achived. it will be in the inner side of the device so it wont realy be visible to people.

What will it do?
it will observe your walking behaviour and will count you steps also it will show you your progress through a seperate unit using led.
Who's done what beforehand?
there are many commercial versions of the idea with different execuation. almost all smart phones are used to count steps also there are the smart watches but all of these options doesnot give the persone the privousy required specially by overweight people. the strugle to listen to people everytime advising you if they new that you are starting a diet or working out leads to demotivation in many time based on my own experiance.
What will you design?
i will design the electonics board for the two parts of the device as well as the covering for those parts.
What materials and components will be used?
part of it will be 3d printed plastic i might use nylon for the sensore part for its durebility and the led side i want to make edable keychain and to communicate between the two boards i will try the bluetooth hc5 module.
Where will come from?
all the parts are available in the lab.
How much will they cost?
What parts and systems will be made?
the sensor unit, the keychain with led and their circuit boards.
What processes will be used?
3d design, electric circuit design, 3d printing, molding and casting, electronic production and integration.
What questions need to be answered?
the question is wether i will be sucsessfull to make them communicate with each other or not.
How will it be evaluated?
if it can send information even if it is not very close to each other.
