Week 05: 3D Scanning and Printing

In Fabinka, we have cool background organising educational workshops for kids We have Picaso 3D Designer printer, it can use a lot of filament types. I will use PLA 1.75mm diameter filament. Then I found old whistle model on Thingiverse, I played with it couple years ago, but now decided to change some parameters and forms and then print it.

Week 04: Electronics production

The mail goal of this week was to make an in-circuit programmer by milling the PCB and program it. So lets divide entire process into steps: Designing the board While searching for different versions of FabISP, I chose the one that was described here. First time, I downloaded .brd file for this PCB and opened it with Autodesk Eagle: I even tried the export feature and discovered many parameters of Gerber file format In my point of view ideal workflow would be to export it somehow to Fusion 360 and then generate .

Week 02: Computer Aided Design

My main goal for this week was to develop original design for my device, using different 2D and 3D graphic editors, getting experienced with different approaches. I started from 2D graphics, and decide to choose Sketch because I was familiar with GIMP and Corel and Photoshop earlier and wanted to try something new. In general program look very nice and useful, all buttons on their places and everything you need is always is in the viewport.

Week 01: Principles & Practices, Project Management

During the week I planned my potential final project, selecting proper idea from my “backlog” list :) As my final project, I want to create programmable sound synthesiser which can be used both by amateur musicians and by students. It will have 9 buttons, each assigned to separate musical instrument or sound sample, or sound filter. Each button can be highlighted by RGB LED while pressed or as guide which button should be pressed And audio output, by which device can be connected to stereo-system or another line.
