So have finally decided to go with my second option which is a "Strandbeest".
Strandbeest is a very helpfull machanism whhich have many application. In here I am making a robot based on "Jansen's linkage". Unlike other complicated machanisms, this one doesnt requires multiple rotors or actuators. This robot can move in all sorts of terrain like, Desert, Mountains, Snow, Rocky, Swampy, etc. In my project the robot can be controlled via smartphone app, or it can run on its own. I am also adding modular developing for upgrading it's features...
Lot of people have build their own Strandbeest.Even Russian Army has made some prototypes of that and these bots will be included in the army sooner. As it is an all terrain vehicle it can be used for Planetry Exploration like Mars because it has maximum payload to weight ratio than any other bot.
Maker hobbiests have turn this machanism according to their imagination and there are resources going on which focus on devoloping all terrain vehicles and robotics...
I am designing the entire robot, which includes it's body, machanisms and electronics. The circuit board has to designed to fit it's body. The body shold be designed for free movement with the actuators.
The parts need are the main parts. The entire body and mechanisms can be made in the fab lab itself. Also have to make an enclosure to accomodate all electronics components
The WiFi module in the controller circuit board enable the user to manually controll the robot with a help of an app.
The robot have different sensors which help it to move wothout any imact. It can avoid objects with the help of these sensors.
Theoretically Yes. But now it is limited to normal surfaces only.
For half hour continuesly.
The strandbeest is a simple but a complex mechanism, which is not that easy to get the perfect results without a perfect design. The experience that I got from the previous week's assignments gave me a confidence that I can do that. I like to make more complex and twisted models of this strandbeest.
