1.2D design

I have no background for 2d,3d design. Everything was new to me. So any tool doesn't matter to me.
Before saying about my 2d design experience,
I would say which design I want to use for my final project.

Software for 2D design

There are so many software for 2D design.
Photoshop
Illustrator
These are Photoshop and Illustrator which are most famous software.
But it's not free.
I wanna use free software.
So I found Gimp and Inkscape and used them.

First, I tried to use gimp. I try to learn it in youtube.
But I gave up to use this tool.
Because I think inkscape would be better for me to use.
So I jumped into Inkscape.

Before starting to use Inkscape
I learned how to use Inkscape (espically how to draw begi-line) on youtube lecture

But knowing it wouldn't help me to draw "Roof-end Tile with Human Face" perfectly.
Because that is a kind of sculpture.
So it was really difficult to copy that image by myself.
I'll show you my trial. And I'm sure you guys have fun of it.

I already know I'm not good at drawing by hands. But I found again myself bad at drawing by 2d design tool.
So I tried to search other ways. And I found how to 'trace bitmap'

But there is also problem. Because this image is so many bitmaps. So I have to modify to cut down bitmaps.
So that'll be my next assignment. I couldn't solve it now. (I solved this in week3)
(The answer is 'characterstic draw' I think it's the best way I can find.)

2.3D design

I was given tips by Rodrigo (Fab lab Seoul Instructor).
He recommend me to use Fusion360.

Why is Fusion 360?

We can use it for free (3 years for student and teacher) though it's cheap.
And it gives cloud in system.
So we can download other peoples' design and upload our design.
Other than these, it's really good quality for 3D design.
So I decided to use it.

I also learned this tool via youtube.
And also I took the class by Rodrigo.
Both of them are really helpful to me.
And it was really good exprience
I enjoyed drawing with Fusion360 though still I have bad skills.

I want to make wood shoes(such as Clog in Holland or Geda in Japan) for my final project.
So I designed prototype of my shoes.

First, I set parameter.

What is parameter design?

If we finished our design and found the value(lenth,depth and so on) different or we wanted to change the value, Parameter desing would be for that situation.
We don't have to design from the first again.
Parameter desing helped us.
It's very powerful.

These are my sketch. I set parameters. very simple. Just two parts.

Next step is Extrude and copy and paste it.
You see I got reversed design.
I'll show you.

How do I get reversed design?

Click 'Copy' and 'Paste'.
And you will get same design and you can move it.
And then you can swing it.

When I swing it, I wanted to get it on same z(in x,y,z).
So I chose 'Right angle' on the up-right.
I can get reversed one on same z.

And then I tried to make loft.
But my first trial went into fail.
Because I set my sketch on the wrong point.
So I figured it out.
I made what I want to make with 'Loft' fuction.

Finally I modified some parts with 'Chamfer'.

Final 3d design

I changed my final design so that I need other 3d designs.
That's what I need for my Fianl.

1.The bar sticked to the switch and the pin for servo motor to be hung up.

2.The external box to hide the programming board.
