Wildcard Week.

Concept

For this week, the scope was to experiment with a different technique than previously used. The choice was to experiment with food printing techniques, having in the lab available the 3d by flow printer.

Object Design.

First we will design the object is designed in Fusion 360. The goal is to design a cupcake. So the first sketch is made of the base.

First sketch is made by circles that are repeated in circular pattern, since our cupcake has woven like pattern.

The pattern is minimized and a new shape is recreated.

New shape is extrudet.

Cupcake is ready to print.

Slicing Software.

The new STL object is then sent to the SLic3r 3D G-Code generator software.

3D Printing.

As a printing material Marzipan mixture is used. In order to print food, different approach is used in contrast to printing 3D filament. Here the material is loaded into a syringe and is extruded by the means of pressure.

In order to send the job, one needs to access the wireless port of the printer, once it is turned on, by going to 192.168.0.1 and uploading there the gcode file.

Once the job is received we can start printing.
