Final Project

My final project is a data capture device with the goal of training computer vision models. The device will use Internet of things technology to send information (pictures) to server to train models. The idea is complete a sphere half trajectory to take pictures and train automatically computer vision models in machine learning paradigms.

The devide will use dc motors and microcontroller in the platforms, the platform 1 will use to save the microcontroller board, the second for support the camera device, maybe it will a mobile phone, the third will work as a rotatory platform to complete the trajectory.

The header device will be attach to camera to control the lights. The main part will be developed as a head where the camera will be associated with an Nvidia Jetson Nano and four esp32 units capable of regulating the lights and considering sensors for light regulation and data capture.

The project will be define with the following steps:

  • Computer Aided Design: Design key features for 3D printing and laser cutting
  • Computer controlled cutting: fabrication by lasser cutting and 3D printing
  • Electronics production: Produce the programming board
  • 3D scanning and printing: Scannig test object and printing the device frame
  • Electronics design: Sensors and actuators board design
  • Embedded programming: Development the control program.
  • Molding and casting: Development the device plattform
  • Output devices: Stepper motor and light board
  • Mechanical design, machine design : Board Mechanism development
  • Input devices: Ligting and proximity sensors
  • Networking and communications: IoT communications with server
