Final Project Proposal

Introduction

I have many ideas in my mind right now and to be honest I cannot decide which one I'll finish as a final project, so I did the elemination game and decided to make one of my dream project which's chandella!

How the idea came up to my mind ?

  • Are you a music fan ? Maybe you are an Art fan atleast ? Painter maybe ? Does your music genre change based on your mood or vice versa ? You are right, my idea came to me because of how art inspires me to different things and how my art changes depending on my mood. In addition, colors play an enormous role in human psychology and advertising as well.
  • Furthermore, I have read about Color Psychology and how it affects mood and can be used as a way of therapy and this was one of the parameters I got influenced by. However, I found several projects which is to an extent similar to my idea, yet they helped me to develop my idea even more.

    • The Idea

    My idea is a smart chandelier which's controlled by an IR remote or maybe a GUI to change the RGB LED's colors as a piece of smart furniture. From my personal experience, each and every home should practice art therapy on regular bases to maintain a healthy environment and a good mood also colors like I mentioned earlier influences emotions, so if you want romantic dinner, meditation time to throw a party in your house you can change your house vibes with a press of a button.

    Sketching

    How modules will integrate ?

    By skimming through each module I found that I could break the final project into parts inside each module assignment:

    1. Computer-aided design/machining and computer-controlled cutting to cut the circular base that will hide and hold all the electronics parts.
    2. 3D scanning and printing or molding and casting or Composites in wildcard week to make the orbits maybe to make them glow in the dark, light weighted or maybe electronics embedded orbits for orbits backlight.
    3. Input/output devices: to connect the IR transmitter and receiver.
    4. Embedded programming to program the microcontroller
    5. Interface and application programming to make easy to use interface and to have more control over the chandelier
    6. Invention, intellectual property, and income probably as I always think about being a product owner as an entrepreneur
