Worldwide prepping for Fabacademy 2015 feat. prof. Neil Gershenfeld

-2 weeks to Final project

The Sitges Beach Lab [+]

Here in the Beach Lab Sitges Fab Academy started earlier. A few days before Fab Academy classes started we were already introduced to the tutor Francisco Sanchez and to the Lab. Meanwhile prep-meetings were being held via web-conference.

The Labs space is very welcoming and well equipped. This place is great for the set of all brand new machines and spaces available namely the area for FabCafe. So alongside with the view from the beach Francisco has managed to create a great mix of work and pleasure environments.

Happy to have chosen this Lab!

For the first days we talked about daily tasks such as login in Jabber video for every time we were working at the Lab so that any questions we might have could be solved reaching to others in the web conference virtual room.

We were introduced to some of M.I.T. working methods, to the Archive , we did the installation of Unbuntu operating system and finally, a general explanation was given about the softwares and hardwares we will be using.

And then francisco kept going showing us some of the cool features of the Lab. LED array with arduino + sonar distance sensor on the very lively vertcal garden. So it was mandatory we had to play!
