Eagleis a easy to learn software that help you to do schematic electronic design and can help you to draw an actual PCB board and export to many different kind of format. When starting, make sure to import component libraries in advance.
An Eagle electronic design project starting from Schematic editor. Schematic editor allow you add all the component you need to use on your circuit and verify the relationship between them.
At this stage, wire is a common function to let you add lines between components.
After the schematic design, you can run a ERC error check tool to see what is missing or incorrect.
Then you can switch to the Layout view by clicking Generate/Switch to board button
when putting the cursor at the cross and right click, a menu will pop out and its has most functions you need, you can move, rotate, copy, name…..the component.
After putting components at the place you want, its the time for wiring, Route and Ripup can help you do the job accordingly.
When you finish, a DRC error check can help you check the potential problems
This is my first time curcuit design, so basically, I followed the tutorial and do it step by step.
and get my board layout.
But when I try to sourcing the components, I couldn’t find the 20MHz resonator listed in the tutorial, So i was suggested by some of our fablab members that i could replace that with a crystal we used earlier and combined with two capacitors and get a similar result
So I went through the design process again, and i was stucked by mistakenly putting two polarized capacitors and couldn’t get the board layer out properly. Then I was told that I could actually use non-polarized capacitor here, So finally I was able to finish the design and make the board.
