Loraine's PhD research involves examining interaction with existing museum exhibits that engage visitors in multimodal interaction, developing
multimodal exhibits and carrying out field based studies. Loraine has a background in Industrial Design through industry and academic experience.
Loraine has two and a half years industry experience designing and producing composite kayaking paddles for Rough Stuff paddles in Dublin, Ireland

Additionally, other industry experience involves a role as an interaction designer with a software company where the main role was to examine users
interaction with software and use these stories to (1) improve usability, user experience and (2) create digital media using the stories for marketing
the software. Loraine holds a BDes degree in Industrial Design from the National College of Art and Design, Dublin and a MSc in Interactive Media from
the University of Limerick.
I'm going to be taking part in the academy course over the space of two years (2013 & 2014) as I'm researching as a full time PhD student at the moment.
I plan to focus most of my attention on the electronics element of the course duing 2013 and focus on the rest of the topics during 2014.
