WEEK 2 | Computer-aided Design

I drew sketches on Illustrator. I started with basic shapes in order to test the concept and to test how children might interact with the game.

Paper & polyester modeling.
My objective : to test the size of the modules.

I began 3D modeling with 123D Design then I switched to Rhino. This software is harder to use at the first sight. Patience, practice and tutorials help a lot. Thank you Ben Matthes for your useful advices. I hope that I will be able to make something more complicated than a cube soon !

Here, download the 123D file.
I would rather keep working on Rhino. As a beginner I find the command tab very useful to find the functions that would suit me. The grid and the four different perspectives helped me to be precise in the measurments. At this point I've just used the box, the boolean and the extrude functions. But everybody has to start somewhere!

3D printing.
My objective : to check I can assemble the cubes designed on Rhino.

My results of the week.
