This week, we have to develop a plan for dissemination of your final project
Because I've got some big issue with the electronic of my project, but here are a good overview .
What is the FunGun :
It's a laser tag for playing outside , with a range of 30m under the sun. Concretly , it's a fake gun with IR emisor , with some IR sensor to detect when a player of the opposite team has "wounded" you.
The idea is to build an educativ DIY kit , for kids and teenagers.
What are the goals :
I will not describe here the benefit of playing laser tag, they are quit obvious : fun, team spirit, promote strategy and orientation skills.
There are 2 main goals :

put the kids back in the garden, playing a game they will enjoy ! They will love it because this is the same idea than the online games they are playing like Call of Duty , but runing , hiding , climbing ... In the other side , parents don't know how to disconnect their kids from theirs screen games, and play outside : laser tag is a garantee of success.

educate the kids about code, electronic and 3D printiing . Make them realize that they can make almost anything, Moove from a consumer attitude to a maker one.
The second one is
the real one ! The first one is the result of searching a project who could really motivate either parents and kids , because motivation is the keypoint for learning.
Who will "buy" it :
Well the good thing here is everybody could probably found an interest to promote making a FunGun :

a) the kids for the game itself, and the pleasure to build something so complex

b) the parents for having kids back to outdoor games , and for the educational purpose

c) educators for 3 areas they can touch with a FunGun project in a class : learning by doing .
Dissemination :
To promote the FunGun project , we want to make it opensource.
A common part of the dissemination plan is a website explaining all the step to build a FunGun, including :

tutorials ( a lot of work , but we should be able to have help of the educator ' comunity)

files for the board ( eagle and .png )

3D file for the body

bill of material
Is it sufficient ? obviously not, there are already many lasertag DIY projects. But many educators have no idea how to deal with to have a PCB board, don't have a welder, neither a 3D printing machine. And this more true for parents and kids.
So we need to make it simple , like Arduino do with his board : we need a turnkey solution.
Turnkey package :
Because making the electronic part could be a blocking point ( welding equipment , making the board ..) we probably should propose an arduino version using a sparkfun IR emisor board : this would allow to have a version focused more in the 3D and code aspect.
Back to the current not-arduino version , we would have the following bundle :
