I was hoping to at least assembly the FabIsp on a breadboard so I could partially complete the assignment and begin to think of the ways I could program it – What I fail to realize was that the components ordered from DigiKey were SMD.
To Be Completed………….
Milling the Board on the Sherline CNC
Before this is done files needs to be prepared to mill through the FAB software
Belown is the mill setup for the traces and the generation of the G code. To run this file on the Sherline it need to be converted to .ngc file.
The software that communicates with the serline is emc2
After fixing your copper board into the machine bed you need to zero the 3 axis using the emc2 software: screen shot below
The z being the trickiest as you have to open the tool head that holds the bit and allow it to drop to the right height.
My milled board:
My board staffed with components
Connected my board to start the programming but I have a red light on my programmer.
I have checked for shorts all across the board and couldn’t find the exec location of of where a crossing or a short occur.
