FAB ACADEMY 2013////////////////////////////
Javier Pérez Contonente aka Japi

Week17 .- Invention, intellectual property, and income

This assignment involves creating a plan to disseminate my final project.
During this FabAcademy period I´ve been focused in the technichal challenges of my project, since It was my first step in electronics and programming.
But I think the main invention my project could bring, is not in this technical approach, but in the new applications it could bring.
Most sensors I´ve been producing are already in the market in a very affordable price for the ARDUINO and RaperryPI PLATFORM: e-Health , for biometric and medical applications.
My final project is a dispositive that codifies and transmits NON CONSCIOUS body information such as: sweat, heart rate and eye blinking. The project seeks the augmentation of human experience through wearable physiological technology. It wishes to bring something private, namely our thoughts and emotions, and broadcast them to the world in new ways not yet explored.
So the invention in my project is in the new use of this existing technology, fo example in the creation of emotional cartographies that could help us to interact more creatively with our cities and peers.

At this stage, the idea is to develop visualizations of this biometric sensors related to the places: cities or neighborhoods or even smaller geographical spots, like faires or even buildings.
Visualising people’s intimate biometric data and emotions using technology, as long as they move through the physical space.

I see the development of this project in a collaborative way, doing whorkshops. I plan to present this project on events, calls and conferences on topics like: open design, public space, smart citizens...

Regarding income, after a necessary development, could be possible to create different apps for mobile devices that could be sold. But before this, this kind of biometric technology should increase its popularity, otherwise it wont never leave the artistic field.
