Assignment Eight:
MOLDING AND CASTING
Everything in life has an equal and complementary opposite.
The design was drawn out in rhino and cut out using the laser cutter from acrylic sheet material
Three pieces of the same design cut out were glued together using a glue gun to form the cast that was used to create the mold
Made two even measures of the A and B poly urethane, mixed them by stirring
Placed the cast design at the center of a cylindrical container, and poured into it the poly urethane mix
Left it to dry overnight but it did not completely cure even after 24 hours; hence a heat gun was used on it
Upon drying, the acrylic design was removed from the poly urethane
A mix of hydro stone powder was made using water and filled into the made out mold
A second piece was made in the mold and after the two pieces had completely dried, one was painted black and the white piece had a black eye painted on it
