Lab Safety Training

Before operating the CNC machine, we completed safety training covering: - Proper PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection) - Emergency stop location and usage - Tool change procedures - Dust collection system operation - Secure material fixturing - Safe distance during machine operation

Machine Testing

We tested the following parameters on our CNC machine:

1. Runout Test

  • Checked spindle runout using dial indicator
  • Verified tool concentricity

2. Alignment Test

  • Ensured machine bed is level
  • Verified X, Y, and Z axis squareness

3. Fixturing

  • Used screws and clamps
  • Ensured material was fully secured
  • Checked that no screws intersect toolpath

4. Speeds & Feeds Testing

Material Tool Spindle Speed Feed Rate Pass Depth
Plywood 18mm 6mm End Mill 18000 RPM 2500 mm/min 3 mm
MDF 18mm 6mm End Mill 16000 RPM 2000 mm/min 3 mm

5. Toolpaths Tested

  • 2D Profile
  • Pocket
