This project is a LoRa-based walkie-talkie system designed to control multiple nodes remotely using an ESP32-based Heltec module. The main controller can switch communication frequencies to target specific nodes, sending commands that trigger pre-recorded audio messages stored on SD cards. Each node includes an ESP32, speaker, and control buttons, allowing it to play the received messages or respond when prompted. The system leverages LoRa’s long-range communication for reliable, low-power operation, enabling voice-based instructions and interactive control across multiple nodes in a scalable network. This setup provides a flexible and practical solution for remote communication in applications such as smart facilities, emergency alerts, or group coordination in outdoor environments.
I am an Electronics and Telecommunications graduate with strong experience in embedded systems and digital fabrication. I have more than four years of hands-on practice in designing and developing IoT and hardware-based solutions tailored to the needs of developing communities.
I earned a professional certificate from FabLab Rwanda in Embedded Systems and Hardware with Digital Fabrication, where I worked on several innovative prototypes focused on agriculture, energy, and smart monitoring systems. My work emphasizes practical problem-solving, data-driven decision making, and technology for social impact. Moreover , i ve Been engaged in robotics and STEM Education through edutechs by building Educational Robotics kits and training schools, i ve done this through companies ,and national Robotics program .i build robots that align with Rwandan Educational curriculum.
Within my Research ,i ve started by curiosity of monitoring life and providing communication under mining tunnels, this led me to implementation on smart mining helmet. This was the start of remarkable journey of my researcch and development where the project had access of Open skies Fellowship,i ve not sopped ,i started thinking how about the jacket which has led my research into UNPOD winer. From then i ve believed in me and aquired a lot of skills ,developed many projects , prototypes and product.
Through the FabAcademy program, I aim to strengthen my skills in electronics design, programming, and product development while contributing to my community through knowledge sharing and sustainable solutions.
I am passionate about innovation, research, and continuous learning, and I enjoy transforming ideas into functional prototypes that can improve everyday life.
