Group assignment¶
For the group work, we tested equipments in Oulu FabLab to observe the operation of a microcontroller circuit board.
Individual assignment¶
PCB Design¶
For my individual assignment, I created a Printed Circuit Board (PCB) in KiCad.
What is KiCad¶
KiCad's Schematic Editor supports everything from the most basic schematic to a complex hierarchical design with hundreds of sheets. Create your own custom symbols or use some of the thousands found in the official KiCad library. Verify your design with integrated SPICE simulator and electrical rules checker.
We installed the fablab plugin then we go into shcematic edditor. Click on the place symbol
Change it from inches to mm from this side.

Also we change the chrosshair to global because we can align components easier.

Find the component.

Change the rotation or the direction of the component with the mirror tool or with R



use a label to wire without wires, the programm makes the connection itslef

Got a few errors after connecting so had to use a power flag

Added power flags.
Saved and went to pcb edditor


we needed to make a 7+3 pin look like a 10 pin so what we did is move them to the same location
and then move the big one down 7*(2.54)
so we select the properties of both and


we can see the


we do them like these because if we make a solid thing when we do it like a solid the heat will be shared over all of the ground and it will be super hard to solder.
