Carmen Elena Gutierrez Apolinario

Architect and urban planner from Satipo, in the Central Jungle of Peru. Specialized in educational infrastructure and participatory design in rural and Amazonian contexts. Member of the Semillas para el Desarrollo Sostenible Association. Collaborator with Fab Lab Peru and Forest Lab on the REGEN project, focused on innovation, sustainability, and territorial regeneration in the Peruvian Amazon.

David Avila Pimentel

Designer and maker based in Lima, Peru, with a degree in Architecture and several years of experience in digital fabrication. Specializing in CNC machining, 3D design, and 3D printing, they have been an active member of the FabLab Peru community, supporting events that promote these technologies.Currently, their work focuses on parametric design and the development of their own brand, Parametri-k, exploring the synergy between design, technology, and digital production.

Architect focused on parametric design and digital fabrication. Fab Lab Perú member and REGEN project collaborator. Curious about how design, fabrication, and environmental systems can shape adaptive architecture. Based in Lima, Peru.

Jianfranco Bazan J.

Mechatronics Engineer specializing in digital fabrication and technological prototyping at FABLAB UNI. They focus on advanced manufacturing management, reverse engineering, and sustainable innovation through the IntecSostenible research group. Their expertise integrates robotics, smart manufacturing, and AI to develop functional solutions with social impact. Driven by collaborative experimentation, they transform complex concepts into tangible digital products.

Mario Chong

Associate Dean of Innovation & Design Engineering and Professor at Universidad del Pacífico. She is a distinguished IEEE Senior Member, Horizon Europe National Contact Point, and Stanford WIDS Ambassador. With a PhD in Business Management and advanced certifications from MIT and RPI, she has extensive experience directing MBA and Supply Chain Management programs. Her leadership extends to board positions at PANAMSTR and IEEE Edunine, focusing on innovation and sustainable engineering.

Rocio Maravi

Biologist and Educator specializing in agricultural innovation and digital fabrication. Currently leading the FAB-LAB within the Agricultural Production program at a technical higher education institute, while serving as a specialized advisor for Trichoderma cultivation at the CITE Productivo Madre de Dios biotechnology laboratory. A dedicated professional committed to the philosophy that any technological challenge can be overcome through persistent learning and interdisciplinary experimentation.

Grace Schwan

Coordinator and researcher at Fab Lab Peru. Specialized in design, mentorship, and the integration of nature, culture, and technology. As a key member of the Fab Lat and Fab Lab family, her work focuses on creating inclusive communities, promoting gender equity, and developing technological solutions for people with disabilities. A resilient advocate for lifelong learning, she bridges digital fabrication with social impact and environmental harmony..

Cindy Marilyn Crispin

Bachelor in Administration and International Business, educator, and promoter of technological innovation. She is a member of Fab Lab Huando, where she works on prototype development, digital design, and digital fabrication projects focused on entrepreneurship, education, and sustainable solutions with social impact.

Jennifer

Industrial Designer with a Master’s in Innovation and Technology Management and Policy and a university lecturer. Her professional practice integrates strategic design, technology, and art through an interdisciplinary approach. She has extensive experience managing digital fabrication laboratories, coordinating technical workflows and educational programs to transform creative concepts into tangible solutions and functional prototypes.

Benito Juarez

Architect and researcher specialized in digital fabrication and co-founder of Fab Lab Lima and the Floating Fab Lab Amazon. A graduate of Fab Academy and Bio Academy, they lead the REGEN project and SymbioCreation, integrating technology with ancestral knowledge. Their work treats the Amazon as a living system to drive regenerative architecture and empower communities through sustainable innovation.

Vaneza Caycho

Entrepreneur and CEO specialized in digital fabrication and Fab Academy (2014) graduate. Co-founder of iFurniture startup and Director of Fab Women, leading initiatives that bridge technology with traditional industries. As coordinator of Fab Lat, drives regional collaboration and innovation, focusing on empowering women in tech and transforming design and carpentry sectors through digital tools and entrepreneurship.

Roberto Delgado

Electronic Engineer and researcher specialized in digital fabrication and Fab Academy (2012) graduate. Former manager of Tecsup Fab Lab and the mobile Fab Labs network, they serve as a Global Evaluator and international instructor for the Fab Academy. Recognized with the Chevron STEM Education Award, their work focuses on industrial design, patent evaluation, and the implementation of high-impact technological education programs.

Luis Miguel Rodriguez

Architect and urbanist specialized in digital fabrication and Fab Academy (2022) graduate. With a postgraduate diploma in urbanism, focuses on integrating maker culture into the built environment through a hands-on and curiosity-driven approach. Combines technical expertise with strategic spatial design to bridge the gap between architectural theory and practical digital manufacturing.

Hayashi Mateo

Mechatronic Engineer and researcher specialized in intellectual property, patents, and video game development. A Fab Academy (2022) graduate with over six years of teaching experience in innovation. Currently serves as Innovation Coordinator and Professor at Toulouse Lautrec Institute, leading interdisciplinary projects that integrate digital fabrication, immersive experiences, and human-centered design..

Cristian Loayza

Architect and Systems Engineering master's candidate specialized in digital fabrication and Fab Academy (2024) graduate. CTO and Co-founder of iFurniture, serving as a CNC machines instructor and digital carpenter. Combines architectural design with software engineering and photography to experiment with emerging technologies. Focuses on the intersection of technical systems, digital manufacturing, and creative hardware development.

Fab Academy 2024 graduated and current instructor since 2025. Architect and Professor with a Master’s Degree in Design, and the founder of FabLy (fably.net). My work focuses on the intersection of digital fabrication, architectural innovation, and education, promoting the democratization of technology through hands-on learning.

Silvana Espinoza

Electronic Engineer and researcher specialized in educational robotics and Fab Academy (2024) graduate. Master in Technological Innovation and Innovation Coordinator at Toulouse Lautrec Institute. Founder of INGEBOT Academy and Vice President of IEEE WIE Peru, focusing on bridging gender gaps through STEAM development for women and driving social impact through Lima Garage Lab and Fab Lab Peru.

Evelyn Cuadrado

Architect and digital fabrication specialist and Fab Academy (2025) graduate. Serving as Local Instructor since 2026, leads Cuadrado Arquitectos and Grullas Design, bridging architectural projects with handmade craftsmanship. Expert in CAD/CAM design and regulatory management, focusing on the democratization of technology and maker culture.

Jhonatan Cortes

Systems Engineer and project management specialist and Fab Academy (2025) graduate. As the sustainability and administration leader at Universidad EAN’s FabLab in Bogotá, Colombia, they have been a key figure in the laboratory's formalization and evolution since 2022. Expert in overseeing maintenance, continuous improvement, and the development of strategic solutions in digital fabrication spaces, focusing on the intersection of innovation, technology, and sustainable prototyping.

Agreements

The Fab Academy is responsible for:

  • Teaching principles and practices of digital fabrication
  • Arranging lectures, recitations, meetings, and events for the class
  • Evaluating and providing feedback on student work
  • Offering clear standards for completing assignments
  • Certifying and archiving student progress
  • Supervising class preparation
  • Reviewing prospective students, instructors, and labs
  • Providing central staff and infrastructure for students, instructors, and labs
  • Fund-raising for costs not covered by student tuition
  • Managing and reporting on the program's finances, results, and impacts
  • Publicizing the program
  • Promoting a respectful environment free of harassment and discrimination

As a Fab Academy lab manager and instructor I am responsible for:

  • Ensuring that all the machines and supplies required by the class are available and in good condition
  • Providing adequate lab access for the class
  • Allowing the Fab Academy to share work in the class (with attribution) for purposes compatible with its mission
  • Selecting, supervising, and supporting the local instructors
  • Monitoring safe and responsible lab use
  • Following locally applicable health and safety guidance
  • Promoting a respectful environment free of harassment and discrimination
