Kurian Jacob 👋
I am a curious tinker, builder, and community architect. Currently serving as the Chief Learning Officer at TinkerHub Foundation, I champion alternative education methodologies and optimistic, hands-on project building. With a background in the Kozhikode district administration, I have a deep appreciation for systems that work, designing frameworks that make communities not just collaborative, but accountable. Beyond tech and education, I explore the world through adventure sports, large-scale installations, and camping festivals. Whether I am designing a learning curriculum or an immersive festival experience, my goal remains the same: to spark curiosity, joy, and tangible societal value.
My Journey
2026 - Fab Academy
Diving deep into digital fabrication to master "how to make (almost) anything." My goal is to bring advanced manufacturing knowledge back to our community spaces to empower the next generation of makers.
2024 - Useless Projects
Sparked a movement to make building "just for fun" cool again. Over two editions, students created 2,500+ whimsical projects, proving that curiosity—not utility—is the best driver for learning.
2022 - Tinkerspace
Built a 24/7 accessible makerspace in Kochi to democratize hardware access. With open GPUs, servers, and 3D printers, it has hosted 10,000+ unique visitors, becoming a hub for maker culture.
2021 - Build From Home
Pioneered a "Learn by Doing" movement when project-based learning was scarce. With 1,700+ participants, this initiative helped normalize practical building as a core part of education in Kerala.
2020 - TinkerHub Foundation
Joined as COO to scale the vision. The community has since grown to 30,000+ members with active chapters across campuses, firmly planting the ethos of peer-to-peer learning in Kerala.
2019 - Kozhikode District Administration
Served as Project Coordinator reporting directly to the District Collector. Managing inter-departmental projects changed my perspective on how systemic design can drive government efficiency.
