This section contains all my weekly assignments.
Week 06 – Electronic Design
Weekly Assignments:
Check Out Our Group Assignment
Group assignment:
Use the test equipment in your lab to observe the operation of a microcontroller circuit board (as a minimum, you should demonstrate the use of a logic analyzer)
Document your work on the group work page and reflect what you learned on your individual page
Individual assignment:
- Use an EDA tool to design a development board that uses parts from the inventory to interact and communicate with an embedded microcontroller
Getting Started with KiCad
Importing The Fab Library
Before we get started to designing our PCB, let’s first download the Fab Library, which will asist us while building our PCB.
Week 07 – Computer Controlled Machining
Weekly Assignments:
Check Out Our Group Assignment
Group assignment:
Complete your lab’s safety training
Test runout, alignment, fixturing, speeds, feeds, materials and toolpaths for your machine
Document your work to the group work page and reflect on your individual page what you learned
Individual assignment:
- Make (design+mill+assemble) something big
This Week’s Idea
For this week I wanted to do something that I did when I was at 11th grade at AP Calculus AB class. So, we were studying over volume calculations of functions in calculus with integral. And, for that we did an activity over cross sections, which is shown in the image.
Week 08 – Electronics Production
Weekly Assignments:
Check Out Our Group Assignment
Group assignment:
Characterize the design rules for your in-house PCB production process: document the settings for your machine.
Document the workflow for sending a PCB to a boardhouse
Document your work to the group work page and reflect on your individual page what you learned
Individual assignment:
- Make and test a microcontroller development board that you designed
Week 09 – Input Devices
Weekly Assignments:
Check Out Our Group Assignment
Group assignment:
Probe an input device(s)’s analog levels and digital signals (As a minimum, you should demonstrate the use of a multimeter and an oscilloscope.)
Document your work on the group work page and reflect on your individual page what you learned
Individual assignment:
- Measure something: add a sensor to a microcontroller board that you have designed and read it.
Week 10 – Output Devices
Weekly Assignments:
Check Out Our Group Assignment
Group assignment:
Measure the power consumption of an output device.
Document your work on the group work page and reflect on your individual page what you learned.
Individual assignment:
- Add an output device to a microcontroller board you’ve designed and program it to do something.
