Help email
Hello Tom and David,
I don't think I can handle any more 2-3am nights deleting, and remaking my website. Every time I do I have to pull the files back down from my repo, and delete them one at a time again. Then I slowly add them back saving and pushing. But I can't make changes to the pulled html code to turn it into .md unless it is in the gitlab repo, because it is only readable on vscode. so I put the file back in, make a .md file, copy and paste the html code, delete the html code, and change it to markdown format, update all the headers and footer, and delete the old html file.
I have found 2 movies that i had saved after compressing, but in all the saving and downloading, and copying the files got switched for the originals. I also found that if I compress a file while in the folder it saves 2 copies, the original and the compressed.
I've tried having another subfolder in my repo that was ignored, and only using the "public" folder. That was working until I started to understand markdown. That was my question today. I thought I understood what to do, and I still think I do, but I tried to take the opportunity to switch to markdown fully like they suggested, and i broke it.
So i started the process of deleting the file again, and again it pulled all my old data. so i started deleting individually again. Since I wanted to use the markdown template i tried to upload the copied files that were within the markdown template I had previously downloaded. however, i have only succeeded in deleting my entire website. It no longer exists.
I understand my place on a team will not be in website design or communication, and I am ok with that, but I had hoped to not fail out of the class. I have uploaded my MKDocs files into a shared google docs zipped file, below. This folder does not have mkdocs.yml or the style.css files, as they are still in the main file.
I have spent all my free time on this, and most of my sleeping time. I am now behind on this week's project. I will be traveling tomorrow, but I will work on it again as soon as i can, probably all night.
The really annoying thing is that I feel like I understand it, but I am obviously missing key things. Like the first page of the instruction manual. I want to spend my time exploring the fun things, like formatting the website, and making interesting projects.
I'm not sure what to do, please help, Dorian
