I decided to create a 2D image that I drew on Procreate with ideas of my backpacks design. After creating my 2D sketch I used Fusion 360 to forge my backpack. I decided to use the surface tool to form the bag, I sectioned off portions of the bag with the form tools to create a realistic bag shape. As for small details regarding the side pocket and bag straps I used the sketch tool to create what I plan the shapes of those objects to relatively look like portion wise. I found that working backwords was easier for me then using the extrude tool to sketch then proceed to make the 2D shape into 3D shape. I saved myself time and stress by using the form tool.

Research

The Fuck You Backpack is a multifunctional accessory designed for both fashion and practicality, integrating innovative technology for enhanced user experience. The backpack features middle finger-shaped straps with embedded motion-sensored LED lights that activate when the user taps the bulb, ensuring hands-free illumination. A suitable option for the LED light is the Cree XP-G3 LED, known for its high-lumen output, compact size, and energy efficiency, making it ideal for wearable applications. This LED can be powered by a small rechargeable lithium-polymer (LiPo) battery, which provides a lightweight, durable energy source while maintaining consistent brightness. Hidden wiring within the straps connects seamlessly to the concealed battery pack, with a low-power motion sensor enabling touch activation. This project explores the intersection of fashion, utility, and wearable technology, demonstrating how unconventional aesthetics can merge with smart design for everyday and outdoor use.
