xTool P2S 55W Usage
I have used the new laser cutter and have summarized how to use it below as an optional assignment.
machine
For safe use
General Safety
Read and understand all safety precautions and measures before using the machine. All safety precautions must be strictly observed.
Follow the operating principles:
- Always check the machine for damage before use. If any damage or defect is found, immediately notify management and never operate the machine.
- Make sure the workspace is clean and flat. Note that the laser tube is made of glass and is extremely fragile. If damaged, the device will not work.
- Do not disassemble the machine or alter its structure without authorization. Do not modify or decompile the operating system.
- Do not leave the device unattended during operation.
- Keep the inside of the machine clean. Residue and shavings accumulated during cutting or engraving are dangerous and can cause a fire. Clean shavings and residue in the tray regularly.
- The machine operates normally at temperatures between 10°C and 30°C and can be properly stored at temperatures between 10°C and 45°C. Do not operate the machine at temperatures below 0°C. The machine should not be operated - at temperatures below 0°C.
Laser Safety
The device is equipped with a safety interlock switch. If the lid is opened during operation, the device will stop working to prevent harm to personnel. No special precautions are required to ensure laser safety.
Follow all safety precautions:
- Do not operate the machine with parts removed. Note that the CO2 laser beam is invisible to the eye.
- Do not engrave or cut materials containing PVC or vinyl (processing of plastics is not recommended). These materials (and other materials containing chlorine/chlorides) can produce corrosive vapors that are very harmful to
- the human body and can damage the device. damage caused by engraving or cutting materials containing PVC or vinyl is not covered by our warranty.
- Do not engrave or cut unknown materials; evaporation or melting of many materials, including PVC and polycarbonate, can produce noxious fumes. Keep an eye on the machine when it is operating.
- Laser operation is prohibited when the lid is open. Ensure that the lid is closed during operation and do not tamper with the lid safety mechanism.
- Do not operate the device before the smoke purifier is properly connected. Most materials produce irritating fumes during processing. This includes, but is not limited to, paints, varnishes, composite boards, and plastics
- that may produce toxic compounds during processing.
fire
Please read the following warnings and suggestions carefully.
- Do not stack materials (especially organic materials such as paper) around the machine. Flames can spread, increasing the risk of material ignition.
- Do not take your eyes off the machine during operation. Operating this machine with incorrect settings and leaving it unattended for long periods of time or mechanical or electrical malfunctions may result in a fire.
- Clean the device regularly. Excessive accumulation of residue or chips from cutting or engraving increases the risk of fire. To ensure that the device is free of residue and chips, the tray should be removed and cleaned periodically.
- Ensure that the area around the machine is free of flammable materials, explosives, and volatile solvents such as acetone, alcohol, and gasoline.
- A fire extinguisher should be provided and maintained regularly.
Electrical Safety
The device's laser tube has a silicone rubber cover to effectively protect the internal power cord. If the cover comes loose and the power cord is exposed, discontinue operation and contact your customer service representative. Please read the following warnings and suggestions carefully.
- Do not open the device access panel when the device is connected to the power supply. Accidental contact with the power supply may result in injury.
- Do not touch electronic parts with your hands or other tools when the machine is connected to the power source.
- The power switch is located on the back of the device. Press (-) to turn the power on and (o) to turn it off.
0. Installation
- Download and install xTool Creative Space V2.0 (XCS for short) from XTOOL.
0. Wi-Fi connection
Assume that the device is connected to XCS using a USB cable.
0.0 Click on the Device Settings icon to open the Device Settings window. Click on the “Basic Info” tab, then click on “Settings” under “Wi-Fi Settings.”
Once a device is connected via Wi-Fi, you can find it in the Wi-Fi tab.
1. xTool P2S connected to XCS
1.0 Turn on the device.
1.1 Open XCS on your computer.
Click on New Project in the upper right corner.
1.2 Click Switch Devices/Connect Devices.
1.3 Select the device to connect.(This time: Connect to the device using Wifi)
2. Installation of materials
2.0 Open the cover of the xTool P2S and place the material to be processed on the honeycomb.
note)I used a transparent acrylic board for this project, but because of its transparency, I could not use the automatic measuring function of the machine's material. So I applied opaque masking tape.
3. Background photography and design of objects to be processed
3.0 Click Update on the back of the CS to display the material on the project page.
note) Performed with each change in material placement
3.1 Object Creation and Editing
- Use the tools in the red frame to create objects on the canvas.
- Use the tools in the blue frame to adjust size and position.
- For more information, please refer to the xTOOL Software Learning Center.
4. Select processing mode and material name
4.0 Select the processing mode.
4.1 Select a material.
5. Measure the thickness of the material
When using a user-defined material, the thickness of the material must be measured. To measure the thickness, you can use either a target measurement or a quick measurement.
6. Parameter Setting
6.0 Select an object on the canvas.
6.1 Set processing parameters for the object to be processed.
in this case
I chose Disconnect at this time. The parameters are as follows
note) This time I used 2.2 mm thick transparent acrylic.
parameter | |
---|---|
power | 40% |
speed | 13mm/s |
Number of processing times | 1 |
7. Start processing
7.0 Click on “Go to Processing.”
7.1 Preview the object and click “Start”.
7.2 Press the button on the xTool P2 main unit to start the process, then press the button on the xTool P2 main unit to start the process. Wait until the process is completed.
