Security

Machine needs to be under 0.5-0.6MPa of Air Pressure to work properly.

Machine needs to have a milling bit installed when motor is turned On.

Do a motor warmup before milling

Check if extraction is correctly connected before milling.

Setup

  1. Export you KiCAD into gerber format
  2. Import your layers 1 by 1 into you CB project to the correct layer.
    • Top side for top layer
    • Bottom Side for bottom layer
    • Mechanical layer for cuts
    • Drill - Plated for through holes
    • Drill - UnPlated for ??
  3. You can hide/show layers in the layer explorer
  4. Setup/verify Tool List
  5. Go to Setup (left side) select Settings, a new window should appear.
  6. Setup/verify your digital tool list, in the machining > Tool changer section, with what is physically installed in the tool changer.
    1. Drill bits are not good for engraving / doing the tracks, it brakes easily.
    2. Drill bits are long
    3. End Mill bits are small and sturdy
  7. Also verify if the settings in Machining > Tools for milling preferences / setup is to your liking
  8. Optionally: save your configurations
  9. Add new milling bit to the list
  10. Go to Setup > Tools, a nw windows should popup
  11. Click on New and fill in the data
  12. Note: only diameter, max entry speed, cutting feed, optimal RPM and dwell time are used by tha application for milling.
  13. Exiting should automatically save.
  14. In Tasks Menu
  15. Generate Contour all layers
  16. Export board to the machine environment
  17. In right Side menu check if Toolbars are activated
  18. Middle Top of screen you will find the Process Toolbar
    1. Button 1 (L) - Import
    2. Button 2 (M) - Tool Path calculation
    3. Button 3 (R) - ? Mill preview ?
  19. Middle Bottom of screen you will find the Environments toolbar
    1. Button 1 (L) - Artwork layout view
    2. Button 2 (M) - Machine layout view (Output command)
    3. Button 3 (R) - Machine milling view
  20. Use the middle button in the bottom tool bar or use the Prepare for machining in Tasks
  21. Position board on where you want to mill it
  22. Right side menu -> Production Tab
  23. Here you will find the tools to move, rotate, etc.
  24. Setup Tool List
  25. when you get into Machine layout view, the layer explorer will be replaced by the Tool explorer.
  26. Now we need to build the tool list
  27. Just click the Build tool list button and it should setup automatically the tools and the paths with what was setup in tool list.
  28. After the tool list was setup any modifications will require a new tool list generation.
  29. There is 3 view mode
    1. Layer-tool-board layout
    2. Board-tool layout
    3. Tool layout
    4. Build tool list
  30. Manage steps - In tool explorer
    1. It is here that you can disable some steps or show/hide tool from graphically showing on the screen
    2. Selecting a tool will show what path it will follow
  31. Go back to the tasks menu.
    1. Do a Design Rule Check to verify if everything is cut properly.
  32. Go into the Tool changer Menu on the Left size.
    1. Open the Compressed Air Valve, it need to be between 0.5 and 0.6 MPa !!!
    2. Pick up a tool by Left clicking on a milling bit.
    3. Start a motor warmup
  33. Do a milling test line to check depth
    1. Position the head to a place where you are not going to mill
    2. the milling test line will be 20mm (2cm) long en Y (dans la profondeur de la machine)
    3. The Engraving attachment needs to be in place.
    4. Click on the Mill test line

    1. Find estimated milling time ????
  35. Start milling
    1. I did the milling mill by mill and changed the milling hight for each milling.
