Security¶
Machine needs to be under 0.5-0.6MPa of Air Pressure to work properly.
Machine needs to have a milling bit installed when motor is turned On.
Do a motor warmup before milling
Check if extraction is correctly connected before milling.
Setup¶
- Export you KiCAD into gerber format
- Import your layers 1 by 1 into you CB project to the correct layer.
- Top side for top layer
- Bottom Side for bottom layer
- Mechanical layer for cuts
- Drill - Plated for through holes
- Drill - UnPlated for ??
- You can hide/show layers in the layer explorer
- Setup/verify Tool List
- Go to Setup (left side) select Settings, a new window should appear.
- Setup/verify your digital tool list, in the machining > Tool changer section, with what is physically installed in the tool changer.
- Drill bits are not good for engraving / doing the tracks, it brakes easily.
- Drill bits are long
- End Mill bits are small and sturdy
- Also verify if the settings in Machining > Tools for milling preferences / setup is to your liking
- Optionally: save your configurations
- Add new milling bit to the list
- Go to Setup > Tools, a nw windows should popup
- Click on New and fill in the data
- Note: only diameter, max entry speed, cutting feed, optimal RPM and dwell time are used by tha application for milling.
- Exiting should automatically save.
- In Tasks Menu
- Generate Contour all layers
- Export board to the machine environment
- In right Side menu check if Toolbars are activated
- Middle Top of screen you will find the Process Toolbar
- Button 1 (L) - Import
- Button 2 (M) - Tool Path calculation
- Button 3 (R) - ? Mill preview ?
- Middle Bottom of screen you will find the Environments toolbar
- Button 1 (L) - Artwork layout view
- Button 2 (M) - Machine layout view (Output command)
- Button 3 (R) - Machine milling view
- Use the middle button in the bottom tool bar or use the Prepare for machining in Tasks
- Position board on where you want to mill it
- Right side menu -> Production Tab
- Here you will find the tools to move, rotate, etc.
- Setup Tool List
- when you get into Machine layout view, the layer explorer will be replaced by the Tool explorer.
- Now we need to build the tool list
- Just click the Build tool list button and it should setup automatically the tools and the paths with what was setup in tool list.
- After the tool list was setup any modifications will require a new tool list generation.
- There is 3 view mode
- Layer-tool-board layout
- Board-tool layout
- Tool layout
- Build tool list
- Manage steps - In tool explorer
- It is here that you can disable some steps or show/hide tool from graphically showing on the screen
- Selecting a tool will show what path it will follow
- Go back to the tasks menu.
- Do a Design Rule Check to verify if everything is cut properly.
- Go into the Tool changer Menu on the Left size.
- Open the Compressed Air Valve, it need to be between 0.5 and 0.6 MPa !!!
- Pick up a tool by Left clicking on a milling bit.
- Start a motor warmup
- Do a milling test line to check depth
- Position the head to a place where you are not going to mill
- the milling test line will be 20mm (2cm) long en Y (dans la profondeur de la machine)
- The Engraving attachment needs to be in place.
- Click on the Mill test line
- Optionally
- Find estimated milling time ????
- Start milling
- I did the milling mill by mill and changed the milling hight for each milling.
