Introduction

Hello! My name is Bjartur Leó Hlynsson, pronounced BYAR-tür LAY-oh HLIN-son. I am a 16-year-old (soon to be 17) living in Vestmannaeyjar, a small island south of Iceland. My interests include computers, electronics, and AI. I have completed elementary school and my first year in high school.

Why Fab Academy?

I have been a volunteer at the lab for about 2 years, and it has been incredibly fun and educational. The main reason I joined the Fab Academy is to deepen my understanding and learn more about how each machine works and what I can do with them. In the future, I am considering becoming either an electrician or a system admin / IT professional.

Fab Lab Vestmannaeyjar

Now, a bit about my lab. It is Fab Lab Vestmannaeyjar, the first one in Iceland, founded in 2008, the same year I was born. Frosti Gíslason is the Fab Lab manager and he is my instructor.
