Final Project Progress
I have been picking away at different aspects of the project. I have in particular spent a lot of time trying to project rainbows on to walls and people and have built some of my weekly assignments around trying to find a workable solution that fits in a relatively small form factor.

Questions to Answer
- My final project will have 3 functions:
- Rainbow projections
- Rainbow flares
- Adjustable color vignetting
Rainbow Projections
This still has the most work left to do. I have found that the quality of the rainbow projection depends on the quality of the LEDs as well as the quality of the diffraction grating. So I still need to tune on this.
Rainbow Flares
I have found a number of materials that will help create these and it is just a matter of putting the diffraction grating over the lens. This is mostly a mechanical packaging challenge.
Adjustable Vignette
I have an idea of how to do this by molding a silicone snoot for the lens. This will be the priority for molding in week 13. Then I will just have to figure out how to get the LEDs to pipe light through it properly.
General
I do have some questions about how much power it will take to run the device. Once I lock onto an LED system that works, I will be able to properly spec the battery. This will be a primary driver for the overall size of the device.
I also want to make the product look sleek and integral to the camera. So I want to be clever about the design and will try to make it so the effects can be merged. This will be worked out in system integration week.
I also want to add an app to control the color of the vignette. This will worked out in week 14, Interface adn Application programming
