About me
Hi! David Wilson here. I am in the College of Computing and Informatics (CCI) at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (david.wilson@charlotte.edu). I work with our fabrication spaces on campus, including the CCI Makerspace and the Charlotte Super Fab Lab. My work and my interests cross the areas of Physical Computing, Human-Centered Design, STEAM Education, and Artificial Intelligence. On my own time, I enjoy fancy tabletop games like Catan and Terraforming Mars.
Previous work
I have worked on a broad variety of projects across computing and fabrication. As one example, I worked with our Department of Dance to develop a series of public performances, where we instrumented dancers with physiological and motion sensing - the data streams were used in real time do drive interactive visualizations projected behind the dancers as part of the performances. As another, I have also worked with our campus chapter of The Helping Hand Project on 3D printed recreational prosthetic devices for kids and families who need them.
