My name is OfeliA Sevilla and live in Lima, Perú but my mind is everywhere.
I'm a 25 years old architect who likes travelling the world and experimenting with every form of design. I call myself a dreamer and faithful optimist in the future. A lover of painting, photography, landscape and technology.
I describe my art as a mix of painting and urbanism from photography and nature that express how I understand every city I can visit. I have always liked crafting and making things. When I was in my second year of architecture school I tried very basic robotics (just for fun) and by that growing interest is how I got to a Digital Fabrication team in my faculty, where I teach today.
Also I'm a concert fangirl all around the world :)
I have wanted to join since I was in architecture school and I got to the digital fabrication team of my faculty in Universidad de Lima, that was involved with the Fab Lab Universidad de Lima. One of the first projects we did was to help the #BuildforBeirut open call of Berytech FabLab in Lebanon. They were asking for open source furniture designs easy and affordable to produce using digital fabrication to help the victims who lost their homes in the 2020 explosion.
That was when my mind really understood how designers and makers are conected in the world with the fab lab community. And how design can be more than just building funtional things but incredible things with multidisciplinary work. (My inner crafting child knew I needed to be part of this)🤩
My instructors back then always were Fab Academy graduates so they always talked about the processes and how to understand the digital fabrication workflow apart from just the design stage. And since that day my goal was to finished architecture school and my thesis project, to enroll in this program and have the time to be crazy with it.
I have been thinking about lots of final proyects to go but I got to the conclusion of following my hobbies to make a fun proyect that involves all my interests.
