FLP-32 Model
Our smallest folding launch pad.
Our FLP-32 model is our smallest folding model. Welding shop made and built to last, it makes the perfect upgrade from a plastic starter set pad or a plastic "E" engine pad. It will accept launch rods from 1/8" to 1/4". Made from 14 gauge 3/4" square steel tubing, the FLP-32 has a 32" X 30" footprint. Designed to handle rockets up through F engine power , but it still makes a good launch pad for your smaller stuff as it'll hold 1/8" and 3/16" rods. The 6061 T6 aluminum rod holder has twin thumb screws to hold the rod in place and pivots on a 3/8" pivot bolt with wing nut. Comes equipped with a 7" X 7" flat 14 gauge blast deflector painted with high temp BBQ grill paint. (Launch rod not included). When you're ready to build and launch some rockets that are a little larger than your average small beginner stuff, this is what you need. (Shown with optional RP-1 rod perch, sold separately.)

Clean, strong welds ensure a lifetime of service from a genuine Knight Mfg launch pad.
All new launch pads have Knight Mfg brand and model decals.
Our FLP-32 Model has a 32 X 30 inch footprint and is a much better choice than a plastic "E" sized launch pad. Capable of launching anything from an Estes "Mosquito" up to the big "Mean Machine", and everything in between.

With twin thumb screws, the FLP-32 rod holder holds 1/8" through 1/4" rods equally well. Wing nut on 3/8 pivot bolt holds the pivoting rod holder in place. Purchase the rod holder alone for $37.99 Free shipping.

Folding design with 5/16-18 wing nut underneath pad.
The FLP-32 models come equipped with flat 14 gauge steel blast deflectors painted high temp silver. New blast deflectors have all 3 rod holes: 1/8", 3/16" and 1/4". Spare blast deflectors are $21.99.
Add an aluminum clamp-on rocket perch for $10.99.
Part # RP-1.

The FLP-32 folds for compact storage and easy portability.

FLP-36 Model Our classic model, popular with hobbyists and TARC Teams.
Our FLP-36 model. Our most popular model.
$289.99 Free shipping.

FLP-36 shown with included blast deflector.
Our FLP-36 model is the next step up from our FLP-32 model. Made from larger 1" square steel tubing, it is designed to launch mid sized rockets up through "H" power. The frame has our standard welded angled ends with plastic tubing plugs to keep dirt out. The 36" X 33.25" footprint provides a stable base from which to launch mid sized rockets. The folding frame pivots on a 3/8 pivot bolt and tightens with an aluminum star knob underneath the frame. Folds to a compact size for ease of portability. The rod / rail holder accepts 1/8" through 1/4" launch rods as well as 1010 series rails. The rod or rail is held in the rod / rail holder with a 3/8 thumb screw. Holds up to a six foot long rail. (Yes, an 8 foot rail will fit in the holder, of course, but if you're going to use an 8 foot rail on a regular basis then go ahead and upgrade to our FLP-42. The FLP-42 has a longer twin bolt rail holder with a larger 5/8" pivot bolt which is better suited to hold a longer 8 foot rail securely) The rail holder pivots on a 1/2" hex head pivot bolt which now has our new welded "T-Handle" to tighten it in place. The T-Bolt is for convenience's sake, but the hex head of the bolt is still there and accessible under the welded handle, and on larger, heavier rockets you can still use a wrench for more leverage to really torque the pivot bolt down tight for safety's sake. Keep this in mind and use your best judgement.
A 7" X 9" angled blast deflector made from 14 gauge steel painted high temp silver is included. This is our most versatile launch pad for small to mid sized rockets as the rod holder holds 1/8", 3/16", and 1/4" rods equally well and will also hold a 1010 series rail. So you can launch anything from a small Estes rocket up to something like a Loc IV with this pad. The FLP-36 is one of our best sellers.
FLP-36 - $289.99 Free shipping.

Schools purchasing these for TARC teams should make sure you can abide by our payment policy before ordering. Thanks.
Please be aware that we do not sell launch rods or rails.
The FLP-36 rod/rail holder holds 1/8" through 1/4" launch rods as well as 1" 1010 rails up to 6' in length making it an excellent pad for TARC teams. If you want to use an 8' rail, you'd be better off upgrading to our larger
FLP-42 model below.
1/4" rod in the rod/rail holder. Thick 14 gauge 7 x 9 blast deflector is included. Spare blast deflectors may be purchased for $31.99.
The rod/rail holder pivots on a 1/2" hex bolt which firmly secures the launch angle when tightened down snugly. The rail holder attaches to the SIDE OF THE PIVOT POST WITH THE T-BOLT, JUST LIKE IS SHOWN HERE IN THE PHOTO. Some of you are trying to slide the rail holder down over the top of the pivot post and that is absolutely not how the two parts fit together. Look at the photos here for correct assembly please...
The rod or rail is held in place in the rod/rail holder with a 3/8" thumb screw. Two thumb screws are included. A long one for use with rods and a shorter one for use with rails.
New T-Handle tightening bolt for the rod/rail holder eliminates the need for a wrench here. This is a big improvement that adds to the ease of use. You'll love this new feature that makes this classic model even better. The handle is welded to the end of the hex bolt, meaning the hex head is still there. So if need be, you can still put a wrench on it to really torque it down if you have a larger rocket on the pad. Just make sure the rail can't move when the rocket launches.
Our new T-Handle tightening bolt. If you have an older model FLP-36 and want to upgrade it with a T-Handle, they are available for $24.99, priority mail shipping included. You'll love this!

Aluminum star knob under frame locks folding arms in place. A knob here is adequate as this pivot point is not stressed torsionally during a launch.
Folds up for compact storage and portability.
Thick 14 gauge angled blast deflector measures 7" X 9". Spare blast deflectors may be purchased for $31.99. Get a clamp on aluminum rocket perch for $10.99. The rod perch works with 1/8" through 1/4" rods and provides a more stable rest for the rocket. Perch is part # RP-1.

FLP-42 Model
$329.99 Free shipping.
We have brought back our FLP-42 model! This pad is ideal for those who like our smaller FLP-36 but who want a slightly larger and beefier pad to use an 8 foot rail.
Our FLP-42 model is back after a several year hiatus. Shown here in our "black widow" color scheme.
The FLP-42's rail holder pivots on a large 5/8" T-Handle pivot bolt.
Longer twin bolt rail holder to better hold a longer 8' rail.
Large T-Handle tightening bolt provides plenty of leverage for tightening torque, but the hex head is still there for a wrench if you need to use it. If you have one of our older model FLP-48 pads and want to upgrade it with a T-Handle, they are available for $28.99, priority mail shipping included.
Thick 12 gauge steel blast deflector measures 8" x 10". Spare blast deflectors may be purchased for $34.99.

Several years ago I made an FLP-42 as a custom job. I thought it was a cool size so I made a few to sell. I kept them on the website for a while, but when they ran out I discontinued them. I was doing the BDL models back then and I just had too many models to keep in stock. But I always thought it was a very cool sized pad, perfect for those who liked the FLP-36 but wanted to use a longer 8 foot rail and launch slightly larger rockets than the FLP-36 was appropriate for. This model gives you:
1. A larger 42 x 39 footprint.
2. A larger and thicker blast deflector made from thicker 12 gauge steel
that measures 8" x 10".
3. A longer twin bolt rail holder to better hold longer rails.
4. A larger 5/8 "T-Handle" pivot bolt in the rail holder for more leverage and holding power.
5. Larger 1/2" pivot bolt on the frame arms.
6. Made from 1" 14 gauge steel tubing.
So basically, it's just a slightly larger and more beefed up FLP-36 that will hold a longer rail with larger, taller rockets.

FLP-48 Model - Our Largest Folding Launch Pad
$419.99 -
Free shipping.
Our new FLP-48 pad is a step up from our FLP-42 launch pad with a larger 48" X 45" footprint. It's our largest folding launch pad and is designed primarily for 1010 rail use. This pad has been totally re-designed with larger 1-1/4" 14 gauge square steel tubing and the rail holder from our TLP-60 model. Holds up to a 10 foot long rail. The folding frame pivots on a large 5/8" pivot bolt and tightens with a big aluminum star knob underneath the frame. The frame ends have plastic tubing plugs to keep dirt out. Supplied with a 9 X 11 inch angled blast deflector made from 12 gauge steel painted high temp silver. Holds up to a 1" 1010 series rail. The rail is held securely in place in the rod / rail holder with two 3/8 thumb screws. It will also hold 1/4" through 1/2" launch rods as well, making it very versatile. The rail holder pivots on a big 5/8 bolt and locks in the upright position with a pull pin. With the pin removed, the rail will tilt down for loading the rocket. Then tilt it back up and reinsert the pin to launch. This is by far the best version of the FLP-48 pad that we have made in the 10 years or so that we have been making it.
$419.99 - Free shipping.
Free shipping is to continental U.S. only. Extra shipping charges apply to Hawaii and Alaska.
Please note that the FLP-48 pad gets hit with the UPS oversize fee, making it our most expensive launch pad to ship.
