Dissemination Plan – How I’ll Share My Project
This project is close to me because it brings together my love for photography, interaction, and physical making. So I want to share it in ways that let others experience and build on it too:
1.Fab Academy Website
All documentation (including code, circuit diagrams, design files, and steps) is on my Fab Academy site, so anyone can follow the process or build a similar version. I’ve tried to keep it as clear and real as possible — including what worked and what didn’t.
2.Open Files on GitHub
All files are also available on GitHub, organized with folders for 3D design, code, wiring diagrams, and a basic setup guide.
3.Sharing on Instagram & Maker Forums
Since this is a playful, visual project, I’ll post about it on my Instagram to reach friends and creative circles. I’ll also share on:
Discord and WhatsApp groups connected to design and tech
Fab Lab India network
4.Fab Lab & Demos
I plan to show the working version at our final Fab Lab presentation and let others try it. Later, I might run a short DIY activity where people can use a simplified version to capture and see their own pixelated photo.
Future Possibilities – What This Could Become
What ’d Love to Try | How It Could Be Done |
---|---|
Make the pixel photo shareable instantly | Add Wi-Fi and display a QR code linking to the image |
Tiny wearable camera that captures emotions | Use ESP32-CAM with smaller battery and lighter housing |
Turn the pixel display into a memory wall | Combine many pixel frames to create a collaborative installation |
Add sounds or captions for each photo | Include a speaker or small e-ink screen for extra info |
Use it as a photo guessing game | Delay the reveal and make it a group game to guess the photo subject |
Let it print the pixel photo on paper | Integrate a small thermal printer, maybe powered separately |
While building this, so many fun ideas popped up that I didn’t have time to try yet, but I definitely want to explore later
Intellectual Property and Licensing
I created this project out of my love for experimenting with photography and creative tech. It’s not something I plan to sell or keep private — I’d be really happy if others tried making their own versions or even improved on it.
To keep it open and community-friendly licensing it under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike (CC BY-NC-SA) license.
This means:
Anyone can use or build on this project.
They need to give proper credit to me.
They can’t use it for commercial purposes.
If they modify or improve it, they should share their version under the same license.
I want this project to stay creative and open, encouraging others to explore and have fun with it, just like I did.
