About me¶
Hi there! My name is Magnús Pétursson. I’ve been working at Fab Lab Reykjavík since 2019 and I decided to finally take the plunge and do Fab Academy. .
This website will serve as an aggregator for all of my research, progress, prototypes and blunders. Already as I’m reading through other students’ sites from previous years I can tell that the mark of a good Fab Academy site is the amount of information gleaned from it. I’ll do my best to document as I go so that this may be of use for future students.
Thanks for checking in!
My background¶
As of writing this I am 25 years old. I got introduced to the Fab Lab in Reykjavík through my studies at Fjölbrautaskólinn í Breiðholti where I was studying in the “Hönnunar og Nýsköpunarbraut” which was a three year mixed course focusing primarily on design and innovation. I never finished the course but during it I took a class in the Fab Lab and fell absolutely in love with the space. Before the semester was over I was already volunteering during open hours and ended up getting a part time position not long after. I’ve stuck around since then and have always wanted to take Fab Academy since I learned of it. After putting it off for far too long I finally decided to take the plunge and go for it. I spend most of my free time reading, playing computer or board games and taking really long walks.
