Applications and Implications:
For productivity Timer Named MINUTES
This is a sample teaser video that i made using canva . I used a vox style edit . I was inspired by those kinda edits and always did wanted to try one out . when our instructed told about the edit i thought to try something very quickly .
I refered The video below in making .
What will it do?
This productivity timer application will help users manage their time effectively by implementing the Pomodoro Technique. It will feature customizable work and break intervals, task tracking capabilities, and visual/audio notifications. The application will run on multiple platforms and integrate with existing task management systems.
BELOW I HAVE LISTED THE FEATURES
Feature | Main Module | Submodule (Add-on) | Description |
---|---|---|---|
Clock | ✔ | Always-on time display | |
Pomodoro Timer | ✔ | Customizable work/break intervals | |
Task Manager | ✔ | Add, track, and complete tasks | |
Alarm | ✔ | Audio/visual reminders | |
MP3 Player (AUX) | ✔ | Play music/audio files | |
Status Display | ✔ | Show current status to others | |
Integration | ✔ | ✔ | Syncs status and tasks across modules |
Customization | ✔ | ✔ | User-defined settings and messages |
What sources will you use?
These are the sources that i took as a reference and inspiration from , There are many who has done similar.
Who's done what beforehand?
Salim Benbouziyane has inspired me in this project . He has a Youtube channel in which he make a productivity timer which was really cool .
There also was a Guy from kerala named shebin and nekhil who was beeen featured in hackster io .Hackterio
What will you design?
Currently, I am designing two products. The first is a display module that works as an extension to the Minutes Pomodoro timer. This module shows the user's work status (such as "busy" or "do not disturb") to others, eliminating the need to repeatedly explain what you're doing. The second one is Minutes pomodoro Module .
What materials and components will be used and where it will come from and what are there costs ?
These listed table contains the equipments that we use in my project .
Product | Cost (Rs) | Purchase Links | Supplier |
---|---|---|---|
Xiao ESP32 C6 | 555*2 | ROBU | FAB INVENTORY |
Rotary Encoder | 39 | ROBU | FAB INVENTORY |
Buzzer | 36 | ROBU | FAB INVENTORY |
E-ink Display | 1,599 | AMAZON | AMAZON |
OLED Display | 224 | ROBU | FAB INVENTORY |
LiPo Battery | 409 | ROBU | FAB INVENTORY |
MP3 Module | 112 | ROBU | ROBU |
Total | 3,529 |
What parts and systems will be made?
-
The casing would be made using 3d print .
-
The components like switches would also be 3d printed .
-
Some outer parts would be laser cutted .
What processes will be used?
The development process will involve several key stages:
- PCB Design and Manufacturing - Creating custom circuit boards using KiCad for both the main timer and display modules
- 3D Modeling and Printing - Designing and fabricating the enclosure using Fusion 360 and FDM printing
- Laser Cutting
- Firmware Development - Programming the ESP32 using Arduino IDE/Platform IO with custom libraries for display and connectivity
What questions need to be answered?
What is the most effective way to integrate the timer with existing task management systems?
How will it be evaluated?
- How well does the Pomodoro Timer function?
- Whether tasks display correctly on the display module
- How effectively the app performs
PROJECT DEVELOPMENT
This is the Gant chart schedule that i have prepared for my Project Completion .
Below i have attached the render image of the first display tag module
THE MANUFACTURED CASING .
It was perfect fit .
The fit is perfect. However, I need to make some adjustments to the magnet placement and the outer NeoPixel positioning.
