Welcome to my Fab Academy documentation
Hi! I'm Mika. I am a bachelor’s student studying Computer Science at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences in Kamp-Lintfort, Germany. I have also been working as a student assistant in our FabLab since 2022, which is one of the reasons I’m here.

I was born in Wesel, Germany, back in 2001. While I was at school, I made my first PCBs – some really simple audio amplifiers. A friend and I made them by etching them in his basement. For Christmas, he gave me an ATMega328P board that he had made himself, which got me into MCUs and even more advanced PCBs. 2018, I got my first 3D printer and started an elective course in 3D printing with one of my teachers. During the pandemic, I started studying and later found my way into the FabLab Kamp-Lintfort, where I started working and fell in love with all aspects of making.
Previous knowledge
Studying Computer Science and working in a FabLab have provided me with a strong foundation in various fields. This includes programming in different languages and collaborating with teams using Git. I have also contributed to various interdisciplinary projects at our university, both as a student and as a tutor.
